Hybrid MLC/Refuge Chamber

High voltage compartment configured as follows:

  • 300 kVA, Core and Coil, copper wound, dry type transformer
  • Load Break Switch with internally LED lit viewing window
  • Lightning surge arrestors and fuses sized per customer voltage
  • 15A Neutral Ground Resistor
  • Door for HV switch compartment is gasketed to reduce contamination
  • E-stop tied into pilot wiring
  • 1ea HV glands for incoming cables
  • Bulkhead separating HV switch compartment from the Transformer compartment

Secondary compartment configured as follows:

  • 2ea 225A breakers, UV trip, DEA GM710A ground monitor, 225A outgoing connector, w/ DEA Rear Side Actuators (Patented)
  • 1ea 100A breaker, UV trip, DEA GM710A ground monitor, 125A outgoing connector w/ DEA Rear Side Actuator (Patented)
  • Utility transformer for control power and local 120V GFCI protected receptacles
  • Power meter, reading voltage and current per phase

4 Person Refuge Chamber configured as follows:

  • 36hrs UPS Battery system with charger and inverter, powered directly from MLC
  • Air supply system:
    • Triple stage air filtration on incoming mine air plumbing
    • Interior chamber with storage locations for 4ea tanks
    • Check valves to regulate internal air pressure for interior chamber
    • Internal pressure measured by plumbed manometer
    • CO2 absorbent curtains sufficient for 36hr occupancy by 4 persons
    • Single phase AC powered air conditioning
  • Sealed chamber with fire and blast resistant portal window and bench seating for 4 persons
  • 120V power from MLC to service the Refuge Chamber when battery power not required
  • Power source indicator light (Green/Red)
